As we celebrate International Women's Day, we want to share our commitment to gender equality for women and emphasise that this is not us jumping on a commercial bandwagon and treating it as a tick-box exercise. As founders, we both strongly believe in DEI and are of the opinion that today is a good time to speak out about working to create a world where women have equal opportunities and are treated with the fairness and respect that they deserve. Unfortunately, to keep the focus on moving forwards and making things better for everyone, a platform is still very much needed to promote women and under represented individuals.

Vision does not tolerate gender pay discrimination and has implemented policies to ensure that everyone is paid fairly and equitably. We have a policy of being transparent about the salary being offered for each job role, and we will always publish it against job descriptions. We recognise that negotiating salaries can be difficult for women, so we ensure that our salaries are fair from the outset.

We also understand that certain words and phrases in job descriptions can discourage women from applying for certain roles. That's why we use gender decoders to ensure that our language is inclusive and welcoming to all.

The motor industry has traditionally been male-dominated, but the good news is that we are starting to see a shift towards greater gender diversity. Women are increasingly making their mark in the industry, taking on senior leadership roles and making key business decisions. Let's celebrate companies that recognise the value of having women in leadership positions and truly believe that their contributions are essential to driving success. Vision applauds the women who have already broken through glass ceilings, and wants to encourage those who are still fighting to make their voices heard, or are in self-doubt.

Let's work together to build a universal culture where it's no longer necessary to promote the recognition of women and under represented individuals because the playing field is finally level and biased opinions no longer have influence in the workplace.
